Just a few things that caught my eye:

• Most Americans think the metric system used up here in Canada is whacked. I think that Ohio math is worse.

• Chris Osgood isn't right. OK, so you're saying to me that he wasn't right before the game; I agree. He got worse. The Wings catch a break as he'll have more than a week to rest his clearly ailing nether-region. Watch the replays; you'll see what I mean.

• Three Pens caught my eye for entirely the wrong reasons -- messy plays, giveaways and complete disappearances. Bill Guerin, Chris Kunitz and Evgeni Malkin. C'mon boys -- put the Flyers out of their misery.

• Evgeni Nabokov had better play lights-out hockey tonight. Is it just me or have you smelled the same odor to his game that I have? The left coast is a long way away from where I sit but there's something ripe there.

• Do you think Martin Brodeur's kids inspired that shutout? His eldest -- twins -- were upset by his You Tube-worthy outburst Tuesday; one sent an immediate text to find out if dad was OK while the other had a long chat with mom. His youngest cornered him about it the next morning. He was much better -- and better behaved -- tonight.

• What do you think Rick Nash could do if he actually had linemates of remotely equal caliber?

• Follow me on this for a second. Ducks' coach Randy Carlyle is freakish about line matching. Line matching is most effective at home when you have the last change. Heading into tonight's game, the road team has won every game in this series. Just thinking out loud...
