Just a few things I noticed on Sunday:
- Chris Kunitz's sleeve patch is forever tattooed on Kimmo Timonen -- was that not the best hit of the playoffs so far? Second best? The two Canes who walloped each other entering the zone on a five-on-three advantage. Yes, you guessed it -- the whacker was Sergei Samsonov who dipsied one to many times crossing the line. No wonder he just doesn't fit in.
- Bobby Ryan should get more consideration for the Calder. Meow.
- How many composite sticks will a player break if a player could break composite sticks? Oh wait -- they can! I don't think I've seen as many broken twigs as I saw Sunday.
- RLou three, St. Loo zip. At least they got a couple this time around. That is after they figured out they shouldn't shoot the puck into his glove every single time.
- At least Andy McDonald is doing his part. Great skater, quick release and he's a former Strathroy Saint. I won't hold that last one against him -- we used to kick their butt cheeks whenever we played them.
- Claude Giroux is a stud. That seeing-eye pass to Simon Gagne for the back-breaking shortie was visionary. Best Flyer on the ice and buried on a lower line. Go figure.
- Who was that masked man in the Philly net? Can't be Martin Biron -- he ain't that good.
- Picking Patrick Marleau this postseason feels like swigging soured milk from the container in the middle of the night. Seemed like a good idea at the time. I swear he's hiding an injury.
- Sidney Crosby had two helpers but didn't they feel like the quietest two points ever?
