I caught the condensed version this morning in 35 minutes, but it seemed like hours. Even though there were some plays made in this game, it's painful rooting against anyone to score points while backing the team that's getting blown out against the spread.
• Bryce Petty made some mistakes and at times lacked pocket awareness, but also made some good throws, a couple of which were under pressure. It's moronic Todd Bowles didn't turn to him a month earlier than he did. Ryan Fitzpatrick is having his Carson Palmer/Peyton Manning year, and the starting point for him wasn't nearly as high.
• That Matt Forte was active probably caused some to sit Bilal Powell who was used like Le'Veon Bell and nearly as effective - 12 targets, 11 catches, 162 YFS. In PPR, that's 27 points without scoring.
• Jay Ajayi's value has bottomed out - he's used only occasionally at the goal line, doesn't catch the ball, and the Dolphins can no longer run block.
• Jarvis Landry sure made the most of his four targets, though Dion Sims was the red-zone look. Matt Moore was plenty competent with 13.1 YPA on only 18 attempts including a nice throw to Kenny Stills for a TD on a blitz.
• Brandon Marshall had one catch for 16 yards. On 11 targets. That has to be some kind of record.
• Why was Matt Forte - who was nearly scratched due to an injury - playing in garbage time? If he's healthy enough to play in garbage time, he was healthy enough to start. That said, Bilal Powell looked much better anyway.
