It was tough leaving our place in Berlin, but once we had packed up all our stuff I was able to wrap my mind around it. The oddest feeling was 36 hours before when more or less everything was still exactly as it was for the last three months and knowing in a short blip of time, it would never again be that way. What a great city - I hope Sasha (who's four and a half) remembers it. We landed in Lisbon a little after 5 pm, and the temperature was 20 degrees - Celsius. Basically we're back in Los Angeles, weather-wise, though that's where the similarities end. I caught up on the game Friday morning, my time, though once again the condensed version of the contest was not yet available, so I watched some and caught the rest via highlights.

• It's hard to read anything into the Chicago passing game given Brian Hoyer broke his arm in the second quarter, and Matt Barkley (6-of-15 for 81 yards) took over the rest of the way. It looks like Jay Cutler will get his job back after all.
• Hoyer's injury took down Alshon Jeffery and Cameron Meredith, but Jeffery stands to benefit the most from Cutler's return.
• Ka'Deem Carey had 10 carries for 48 yards, Jordan Howard only seven for 22. As strong as Howard's hold on the job seemed two weeks ago, he might not even be the team's top back now.
• Aaron Rodgers is back, right? Probably not. He threw for 326 yards and three scores at home against a depleted Bears secondary on 56 attempts, i.e., he managed only 5.6 YPA in an ideal situation. Sell high if anyone's still buying.
• Ty Montgomery led the Packers with nine carries for 60 yards and also caught 10 passes for 66 more. He's a very poor man's Terrelle Pryor, though with far less size and athleticism. I also doubt the Packers will play essentially without a running back going forward.
• Randall Cobb had five carries, 11 catches, scored a TD and narrowly missed two others. But 15 targets for 95 yards is barely over 6.0 YPT. He's likely to be much better in PPR.
• Jordy Nelson caught one of four targets for nine yards. He's not himself, and at 31, he'll probably never be the player he was from 2011-2014.
• Davante Adams (16-13-132-2) looked like the team's No. 1 receiver which is unbelievable for two reasons: (1) He was one of the worst receivers in league history last year; and (2) he suffered a concussion four days earlier and probably shouldn't even have been playing! I'd like to see one more game where he's their No. 1 target, but if I had to go Adams or Nelson, rest-of-the-season, it would be a tough call.
• Some in my Twitter feed were predicting a high-scoring game given the state of the secondaries, and I realize Hoyer's injury clouded the result, but Thursday night games so often under-deliver.
