That was a tough game to watch, even while viewing the condensed version on Game Rewind. When you know the final score is 22-7, and it's 16-7 at the half, it takes a fair amount of willpower to make yourself watch even 20 more minutes. To make things worse, I agreed to let Heather go out and get coffee, thinking Sasha (my four-year old) would sit still and watch with me. Of course she was jumping on my back and elbowing me in the solar plexus the entire time, and I had to bodyslam her onto the sofa two or three times which only encouraged her.
• But for a blown coverage and easy 74-yard TD to Kenny Stills, the Bengals would have had a shutout. The Dolphins did absolutely nothing on offense the entire game.
• Garbage time yielded a few catches for Jarvis Landry, but 7-for-61 is hardly what fantasy owners dream of in that situation. DeVante Parker was only targeted three times.
• Jay Ajayi and Kenyan Drake both looked good when they carried the ball, but Ajayi saw only six carries, and Drake two. Ajayi also had two catches for 13 yards and I suppose he should be considered the lead back, for what that's worth - probably not much.
• Jeremy Hill had a few goal-line chances but got stuffed. Giovani Bernard didn't do much, either, but he got tackled at the two on a reception.
• A.J. Green's going to have a career year at this rate. He caught 10 of 12 targets for 173 yards and a score in a game that dictated mostly running plays. Imagine if the Dolphins had turned it into a shootout.
• For whatever reason, I'm 4-0 against the spread on Thursday night. That would be a great for my overall record were it not offset by 1-5 on Sunday and Monday nights.
