Landale (shoulder) will play in Wednesday's game against the Clippers.
ANALYSIS After missing Monday's win over the Wizards with a strained left shoulder, Landale had been upgraded to probable for Wednesday's tilt before being cleared to play. With Steven Adams (knee) sitting out, Landale should serve as Alperen Sengun's primary backup.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2023
2022
After a relatively strong showing during his second season in the NBA, Landale landed a three-year deal with the Rockets. He served as the backup behind Deandre Ayton during the 2022-23 season, averaging 6.6 points and 4.1 rebounds in 14.2 minutes per game. He is likely to see a similar role in Houston, playing behind Alperen Sengun. Landale suffered an ankle injury in the lead-up to the FIBA World Cup, ruling him out of the competition. Although there are still two months until the start of the regular season, there is a chance he is not available for the start of training camp, at the very least. With that said, it should not delay his Rockets debut too much, meaning managers should get a good look at his role. Unless the team opts to utilize him as a floor-spacing five, affording him at least 22 minutes per night, he is not going to be a standard league asset.
Landale now finds himself in Phoenix, likely playing backup minutes behind Deandre Ayton. Despite an underwhelming rookie season, Landale did manage to cobble together a few excellent performances, highlighted by a career-high 27 points in a loss to Indiana in early March. He added seven rebounds and two steals, going 12-of-15 from the floor during that game. Looking ahead to the 2022-23 season, it is unlikely Landale sees enough playing time to warrant significant attention in fantasy leagues. If Ayton is to miss time at any point, managers may want to just keep Landale on their radar, given his untapped upside.

ANALYSIS Houston would need to waive Landale before Friday to prevent the next year of his contract from becoming guaranteed, however, the team has no intention of doing so. The 28-year-old struggled during the first part of the 2023-24 campaign but ended the year on a high note, averaging 7.9 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.7 assists in his final 26 appearances.
