Leuer took the floor for just eight games last season before suffering an ankle injury that needed season-ending surgery. He had previously been a fairly significant frontcourt contributor for Detroit, as he averaged 10.2 points, 5.4 rebounds and 1.5 assists across 25.9 minutes the year prior in 2016-17. It was certainly a tough blow for Leuer, but he's now had a full offseason to work his way back to full strength. As a result, Leuer should be ready to go ahead of training camp and appears likely to be the first big off the bench behind the likes of Blake Griffin and Andre Drummond. After playing some center at the start of last season, Leuer should be able to stick with his more natural power forward position considering the Pistons brought in Zaza Pachulia in free agency. Leuer likely won't come close to the 25.9 minutes he averaged in 2016-17, but his ability to knock down three-pointers and stretch the floor should get him on the floor when the Pistons stagger Griffin and Drummond. Still, Leuer isn't likely to be relevant in standard leagues now that Griffin is in the fold.
