Mozgov signed a lucrative four-year, $64 million contract with the Lakers during free agency in the summer of 2016, which was one of the more surprising deals at the time. Suffice it to say the contract hasn't gotten better with age. In just 54 games last season, Mozgov averaged 7.4 points and 4.9 rebounds across 20.4 minutes, which kept him off the radar in the majority of Fantasy formats. He was eventually shut down for the final 32 games of the season, as the Lakers wanted to experiment with some younger players after being eliminated from the playoff race. With the Lakers set to go all in during free agency in the summer of 2018, they opted to unload Mozgov's deal to the Nets this offseason, although they also had to give up D'Angelo Russell to do so. Still, that should benefit Mozgov's Fantasy potential and coach Kenny Atkinson has already stated that he'll be starting at center on opening night. Likely headed for a larger workload, Mozgov's rebounding numbers should especially benefit, as the 6-foot-7 Rondae Hollis-Jefferson will be starting next to him at power forward. While his scoring numbers should also increase, owners may want to temper expectations on the whole, as players like D'Angelo Russell, Allen Crabbe, Jeremy Lin and DeMarre Carroll will also be major factors offensively. It's also worth considering that the Nets aren't expected to compete for a playoff spot, so they could opt to get rookie center Jarrett Allen more reps as the season wears on, just like the Lakers did with Ivica Zubac in 2016-17. Mozgov is certainly going to see an increase in his all-around production with the Nets, though it may not be enough to propel back to Fantasy relevance in most formats.
