Hamed Haddadi

As of mid-December, it is unclear if/when Haddadi will be able to make his way back to the NBA because of visa issues. Once those are clear, the Grizzlies may bring him back at a minimal price to eat minutes up the middle when Marc Gasol needs to sit.

Haddadi may be more than seven feet tall, but he has never pulled down more than eight rebounds in a game during his two-year career. He dealt with some ankle injuries early in the 2008-09 campaign, but was a frequent DNP even when healthy.

Haddadi spent almost all of the 2009 either in the Developmental League or as a DNP. He showed a shimmer of promise in late-season action, but the Grizzlies' frontcourt became a bit more talented over the offseason. Barring injury, he should just be a depth guy again in 2009-10.

Haddadi was a late addition by the Grizzlies, signing after starring in the Summer Olympics. His team did not escape pool play, but Haddadi averaged 16.6 points, 11.2 rebounds and 2.6 blocks in Iran's five games. At 7-2, he should be able to grab rebounds and block shots from the get-go, but may need to hone his play on the other side of the court.
