Arroyo is unlikely to be re-signed by the Celtics due to the development of rookie Avery Bradley, according to the Boston Globe.
ANALYSIS
Arroyo barely contributed during his time in Boston, so this should come as no surprise. He will battle for a roster spot in training camp elsewhere.

Arroyo split time at the point with Mario Chalmers and Rafer Alston last season, and he’ll be back in a similar role this year. He has the inside track on the starting job, due in part to Chalmers’ ankle injury. But given the amount of time Wade and James will spend handling the ball, don’t expect big numbers from whoever wins the point guard job; he may be hard-pressed to match last season’s production (six points, three dimes in 22 minutes per game).
Arroyo is probably the Magic's best pure point guard, but he isn't the shooter that Nelson is. He can get the ball up the floor and doesn't mind passing off to his teammates. His assists should increase this season, but he doesn't get the minutes to be a strong fantasy contributor.
Arroyo is a very streaky player, and coach Hill will leave him in when he is playing well. He is a great back up point guard who can be trusted to run either the first or second string team.
Arroyo, the star of Puerto Rico's win over Team USA in Athens, continues to improve as a point guard, averaging 12.6 ppg and 5.0 apg in his first full year as the starter in 03-04. With the additions of Carlos Boozer and Mehmet Okur and the return of Matt Harpring, the Jazz should be an improved team, offering Arroyo to chance to improve on his assist total in particular. Arroyo shoots 44 percent from the field, and can give you a steal and a three per game. His only drawback is coach Jerry Sloan's tendency to go to backup Raul Lopez at a moment's notice. Arroyo played just 29 minutes a game last season, but his Olympic experience should improve his confidence, his court awareness, and his production.
There’s a good chance Arroyo could be the team’s starting point guard, which is wide open at this time. Arroyo, Raul Lopez and Maurice Williams are currently on the roster, but it won’t be until training camp until we see a clear front-runner. He played well in the World Championships.
