Hudson was signed in the off-season and should compete for the backup point guard job with Monta Ellis.
He's struggled with ankle injuries each of the last three seasons and this summer his career seemed in doubt. He says he feels back to full strength after offseason surgery and it's the first time since 2002 he's entered camp able to play regular minutes right away. Still, the T-Wolves are not counting on him given the unceruncertaintyis ankle will hold up for a full season. Even if he stays healthy, he's stuck behind Mike James and Randy Foye at guard and will be used as a three-point specialist. It's hard seeing him have fantasy value unless injuries strike elsewhere and he carries considerable risk given his injury history. However, he still can shoot from long range, so he could be productive in spurts if he falls into playing time.
Hudson will compete for the starting point guard job in training camp, but will likely serve as the backup to Marko Jaric. Hudson was seen as a rising star after averaging 23.5 points per game in the 2003 playoffs, but hasn't been able to recapture that magic the last two seasons due to frequent ankle injuries. Last season he struggled when asked to log big minutes in place of injured Sam Cassell. He wasn't able to keep up with players on defense leaving many to question if he's ever really recovered from his ankle woes. He can still shoot from outside, so he'll score points and three-pointers if he finds playing time.
After a break-out season in 2002-03, Hudson played just 29 games last season as he was plagued by a chronically-sprained right ankle. He had offseason surgery and says he'll be at full strength when training camp opens. He'll be the primary backup at both point guard and shooting guard. He should be a nice source of three pointers if healthy.
Hudson was a star in the playoffs for the T-Wolves, averaging 23.5 points per game. He was a starter for most of last season, but this year will back up Sam Cassell at point guard. He'll get playing time at shooting guard as well. He'll be a good source of three pointers, but he'll likely see his playing time and stats decrease slightly this season with all the T-Wolves offseason moves.
