Past Fantasy Outlooks
2004
2003
Divac signed a two-year contract with the Lakers to become their starting center. He experienced a dropoff in rebounds (5.7 rpg in 2003-04) and, at 36, is ready for a drop off elsewhere as well. Kobe Bryant and Lamar Odom will be the offensive stars on this team, but Divac could provide the team with a third or fourth scoring option. His real value at center is his ability to dish. He averaged 5.3 assists per game (career 3.1 apg) last year, and could be involved with distributing the ball, as the Lakers’ point guard situation is unclear.
Divac will be the Kings' starting center this season, but the Kings' off-season acquisitions of Brad Miller and Tony Massenburg will cut into his minutes this year. Nonetheless, Divac can still be counted on to put up 10 points and seven rebounds a game. Divac is also one of the best passing centers in the league, and should average 3-4 assists. Even in his old age, Divac has played 80 plus games each of the last four seasons, and is a reliable fantasy center.
