Best NBA Bets Today

Chet Holmgren over 2.5 blocks at Denver

Underdog, 4:27 PM CT

Alex Barutha: Holmgren is averaging 3.1 blocks this season and has multiple blocks in all but one game. He had four blocks when these teams faced off on Opening Night. Adding to his case, Denver is the most blocked team in The Association, getting swatted 7.1 times per 48 minutes.

Cavaliers -7.0 at Pelicans

Nick Whalen: Maybe I'm just in the bag for this Cavs team, but I love this spot for them on the road against the banged-up Pelicans, who are down multiple key rotation players and could also be without Zion Williamson tonight. The Pels are coming off of blowout losses to Atlanta and Portland — those are not good teams — and the Cavs are a top-5 team in both offense and defense thus far.

Thunder -7.0 at Nuggets

Nick Whalen: This is a big number for OKC on the road, but we need to keep in mind that Denver simply has not looked the part of an elite team thus far. The Nuggets have needed to scratch and claw their way to wins over bottom-feeders like Toronto and Brooklyn, and they were blown out on opening night by the Thunder. On top of that, Aaron Gordon is sidelined and Jamal Murray will miss another game with a concussion.

I'm taking the OVER on Jalen Suggs scoring 18.5 points

(FanDuel, -115, 3pm EST)

Ken Crites: With Paolo Banchero out (oblique), Suggs and Franv Wagner must pick up the scoring.  I like Suggs' 18.5 mark better than Wagner at 23.5.  Also, Indiana Pacer Tyrese Haliburton still needs to figure out what's gone wrong with his offensive game.  I don't think his mind will be on defending Suggs.  The Pacers have given up 121.9 points per game, which ranks tied for 28th in the Association.  That's not good.  The K-Train is 2-1 on the season and was 36-29 last year.  Feel free to fade!
