Re-ups with Rockies
Cardullo re-signed a minor-league deal with Colorado, Matt Eddy of Baseball America reports.
ANALYSIS
Cardullo appeared in 15 games with the Rockies in 2017, hitting .143/.250/.143 with three RBI in 32 plate appearances. The outfielder spent most of the year in Double-A, but dealt with a broken wrist that kept him sideline for a couple of months in the summer. Looking ahead, Cardullo will provide additional depth for the club, but is unlikely to make an impact for fantasy purposes. Look for the 30-year-old to play for Triple-A Albuquerque in 2018.

2017 Fantasy Outlook
Cardullo returned to affiliated baseball in 2016 following a four-year stint in independent leagues. The time away must've made something click for the 28-year-old, as he crushed Triple-A pitching to the tune of .308/.367/.522. He also drove in 72 runs and posted a strong 37:58 BB:K ratio over the course of the season. This strong showing opened the eyes of the Rockies' brass, which led to a call up to the big leagues. Although his .214 average left much to be desired, Cardullo did transfer his power to the majors, bashing two home runs to produce a strong .197 ISO in his limited number of appearances. He doesn't profile as a big-league regular at first base or in the corner outfield, but Cardullo could push for a reserve role in spring training.
