Chiang agreed Thursday with the Chinese Professional Baseball League's Fuban Guardians on a development contract, CPBLStats.com reports.
ANALYSIS
A native of Taiwan, Chiang will return to his home country after spending the past nine years in affiliated ball. He never reached the majors across stints in the Cleveland and Detroit organizations, topping out at the Triple-A level in 2018 and 2019. The 27-year-old right-hander has been on the open market since November after electing free agency.
