ANALYSIS
The 34-year-old infielder has seen action at the big-league level in parts of eight seasons, with his last appearance coming with the Phillies in 2018. At this stage of his career, Florimon seems unlikely to get another look in the majors, but he'll at least provide the Padres organization with some experienced depth in the middle infield at Triple-A El Paso.

Florimon's surprising small-sample success in 2017 proved to be unsustainable last season, as his numbers fell to .225/.276/.423 in 76 plate appearances. Injuries cut into his playing time but can't really be blamed for his struggles, as he produced numbers in line with his .211/.270/.319 career mark, a line compiled over parts of eight seasons. Those numbers limit him to a 25th-man role, though that's one he can perform capably in as he's appeared everywhere except catcher and first base at some point in his career. That's the role he'll be fighting for in Atlanta and the role he'll have at least some chance of winning as a veteran presence who doesn't need to play very often. If he does win the role, he's unlikely to play enough to have much fantasy value, and even if an injury crisis opens up more playing time, his numbers are unlikely to be good enough to interest fantasy managers.
