Past Fantasy Outlooks
2023
2022
Espino was putting together what looked like a career year in relief, posting a 2.03 ERA and 1.01 WHIP in his first 20 appearances of 2022. The Nationals, mostly out of necessity, put Espino back in the rotation. Things fell apart for the right-hander as he finished with a 5.81 ERA while serving up a whopping 22 long balls in his 83.2 innings as a starter. His future as a major-league starting pitcher is looking bleak. Espino is capable of eating innings but the Nationals should probably shorten him up and hope for better results in shorter spurts in 2023.
