The 2010 All-Star selection owns a career .287/.335/.412 line and was often praised for being an excellent leader in the clubhouse. Prado will be remembered for his consistent production, playing in 1,458 MLB games before calling it quits at age 36.

Prado, once known for his durability, was bitten by the injury bug for a second straight year. The veteran third baseman played in at least 128 games every season from 2009-2016, but injuries have limited him to just 91 games over the past two seasons combined. Prado opened the season on the disabled list while working back from knee surgery and made three return trips throughout the year due to hamstring, quad and abdominal injuries -- the last of which landed him on the 60-day DL and ended his season in early September. When healthy, Prado hit just .244/.287/.305 with one homer and 18 RBI in 209 plate appearances. Prado saw his average drop for a third straight season while his strikeout rate rose to a career-high 16.7%. Even if Prado's average rebounds with better health, it probably won't be enough to make up for his lack of production in the counting categories.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Being pursued after retirement
The Braves and at least two other teams are attempting to lure Prado out of retirement, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
The 36-year-old indicated his intention to retire early in the offseason and made the official announcement Feb. 12, but that hasn't prevented multiple teams from attempting to change his mind. The departure of Josh Donaldson via free agency leaves the Braves with a hole at third base, and Prado could help fill that void along with Johan Camargo and Austin Riley. One of the other teams in pursuit of the veteran infielder is also within the NL East, though it's apparently not the Marlins.
