Mark Mathias

Mathias didn't see major-league action in 2021 and appeared in six games for the Brewers last season before being sent to the Rangers at the trade deadline. The 28-year-old played in 24 games across the final two months of the campaign for Texas and produced a surprising .277/.365/.554 slash line with five home runs and two stolen bases. He saw most of his playing time at designated hitter but also had starts at both infield and outfield corners. Mathias is unlikely to find himself making consistent starts if the Rangers can remain relatively healthy, but he could stick on the Opening Day roster as a utility option with a solid showing during spring training.
