Logan Darnell

Darnell, a 2010 sixth-round draft pick, was a bit of a surprising candidate to get seven starts with the Twins last season. He had some success at Triple-A with a 3.60 ERA, but wasn't exactly overpowering with a 7.0 K/9. His fastball averaged just 89.4 mph in the majors, so he doesn't have much upside. He did generate groundballs at a 44.0% clip at Triple-A, has good control, and he gave up less than 1.0 HR/9, so he does limit the damage from batted balls. He'll have an outside shot at the rotation this spring, but most likely adds depth at Triple-A.
