Lenny Torres

Torres is really young (turned 18 this offseason) and throws really hard (mid-90s fastball), which is a nice place to start. He hails from the Northeast (Poughkeepsie, NY) -- a factor often associated with untapped potential, as prep players from colder climates can't play year round. The Indians scooped him up with the No. 47 overall pick in 2018 and sent him out to the AZL, where he dominated (1.40 ERA) in 19.1 innings. If he had thrown enough innings to qualify, his 28.6 K-BB% and 2.38 FIP would have been the top marks in the league. Torres did not issue a walk in five of his seven outings, which is encouraging for a young pitcher with his electric arsenal. His fastball will be at least a 70-grade pitch by the time he reaches the majors, likely touching 100 mph, and he already owns a plus slider. Developing his changeup will be key for the 6-foot-1, 190-pound right-hander. Torres may not make his full-season debut until 2020, but he has frontline upside.
