Cody made his major-league debut in August of 2020, and he performed well over a limited sample. He made eight appearances, posting a 1.59 ERA over 22.2 innings. Despite his solid play on the surface, his 5.57 SIERA and 5.37 xFIP suggest that his production may not be sustainable over a full season. The right-hander has an above-average 94.3 mph average fastball velocity, but he only induced a 9.3% swinging-strike rate and 19.6 K% in 2020. Instead, Cody relied on limiting meaningful contact, putting up a 47.5 GB% and an elite 3.3% barrel rate. However, he struggled with command, posting a 14.1 BB% that would have ranked worst among qualified pitchers. The 26-year-old will likely get the chance to compete for a back-end rotation spot in 2021 and could warrant a late-round flier in dynasty leagues, but he'll need to prove himself over a full season before he can be considered a reliable fantasy option.
