Morban was reinstated from the restricted list Thursday and transferred to Double-A Jackson, the Tacoma News Tribune's Bob Dutton reports.
ANALYSIS
He missed the last two months due to personal reasons, and will now be sent from Triple-A to Double-A. Morbin hit 17 home runs at High-A in 2012, but since then he has done little of note and should be considered a fringe prospect at best.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2015
2014
Health and plate discipline are holding Morban back, and neither of those took significant steps forward in 2014. After suffering a season-ending broken leg in 2013, Morban needed an extra two months at extended spring training last season before he was activated to Double-A Jackson. He played in only 59 games between Double-A and Triple-A after his season began in late June. Strikeouts continue to be a problem, as he whiffed in 28.3% of his plate appearances between the two stops while walking at an eight percent clip. If Morban stays healthy, he could see a callup this season, but it's hard to expect success with his strike zone issues.
A broken leg ended Morban's season in August last year, but not before he proved that his gaudy 2012 stats weren't merely the product of the hitter-friendly California league. At Double-A Jackson last season, Morban slugged 32 extra-base hits, including seven home runs. He has a quick bat and can hit to all fields. He must overcome two big problems, however, to keep advancing – health and plate discipline. He's struggled with injuries through his minor-league career, and last year his strikeout rate spiked to 29.1%. Still just 22, time is on his side. The Mariners signed him out of the Dominican Republic for $1.1 million in 2008 and last year added him to the 40-man roster, so obviously they have a lot invested him and think highly of his future.
