Rest-of-Season Projections
Still in extended spring training
Nwogu is spending a few extra days in extended spring training before moving to High-A South Bend, Jim Callis of MLB.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The 23-year-old outfielder struggled at Low-A last season, hitting .248/.344/.390 with 105 strikeouts in 94 games. According to Callis, Nwogu is healthy, so he may just be working on some things in a controlled environment before making his debut at High-A.

2021 Fantasy Outlook
Nwogu impressed with the bat in all three collegiate seasons he appeared in with Michigan, and ended his career hitting .334/.430/.545 across 525 plate appearances. The Cubs selected the well-built 6-foot-3, 235-pound outfielder with the No. 88 overall pick, and the early returns suggest they may have gotten a steal. To provide some context of the type of athlete he is, Nwogu drew interest from college football teams as an edge rusher before settling on baseball. Despite his size, he is a plus runner and it's easy to envision him developing plus power. The big question will be whether he hits enough to be a regular. He hit .389/.500/.556 in the fall instructional league, but that was just 22 plate appearances, so we can't read too much into it. Still, college hitters with Nwogu's physical tools who have a chance to hit are pretty rare, so he is definitely one to monitor in his first full season.
