2025 Projections
Heads to indy ball
Field signed with the Kansas City Monarchs of the independent American Association on Tuesday, Brandon Warne of Access Twins reports.
ANALYSIS
Field played in 84 major-league games for the Rays and Twins in 2018, hitting .222/.254/.403. If he impresses in independent ball, he could wind up back with an MLB organization in the future, but his chances of making a significant impact are slim.

2019 Fantasy Outlook
Field is onto his fourth organization in less than a year. After spending the first four months of 2018 with Tampa Bay, he was claimed by Cleveland before winding up with the Twins for the remainder of the campaign. He was then claimed off waivers by the Cubs in November. Field is a well-rounded player who doesn't excel in any one area. He can play all three outfield positions and has some pop in his bat (.181 ISO). He also has a modicum of speed on the bases, but not enough to move the needle in fantasy. He was a bit overmatched when given regular duty with the Rays and Twins last season with poor strike zone judgment and too few walks. He was scooped up by the Cubs and then outrighted off the 40-man roster, so it may be difficult for him resurface in the majors in 2019, barring an onslaught of injuries or a change of scenery.
