ANALYSIS
The Dodgers kept the training wheels on for Kendall's first week in pro ball, but unsurprisingly, he will get his first taste of full-season pitching after hitting .455/.455/.727 with one home run and four steals in 22 at-bats in the Pioneer League. Kendall could have some contact issues against upper-level pitching, but his tools, particularly his 70-grade speed, make him worth rostering in most dynasty leagues.

2018 Fantasy Outlook
Kendall was a divisive prospect at the time of the draft. Everyone agreed he had impressive physical tools, especially for a college hitter, with the potential to be an elite defender in center field. The Dodgers, who have an excellent track record in the draft under Andrew Friedman, were the first team willing to gamble on his hit tool, snagging him with the No. 23 overall pick. Typically it’s the prep outfield prospects who have the impressive raw tools and might not hit enough, but Kendall is at least a 70-grade runner boasting plus raw power from the left side. With those attributes, if most teams thought he’d hit for a decent average, he would have gone in the top 10. That said, even if he only hits .250, he could end up producing like the 2017 version of Byron Buxton. This is not a loaded draft class on the position player side, with the college crop particularly weak. Drafting Kendall in dynasty leagues is a gamble, but a calculated one.
