2017 Fantasy Outlook
The Giants took Quinn in the third round of the 2016 draft. The Samford product has something not many San Francisco prospects have: power. He showed that in Low-A Salem-Keizer over just 54 games. Even more impressive was the fact that he walked 10.9 percent of the time, helping offset his high strikeout rate (20.9 percent). The 6-foot-3, 220-pound right-handed hitter will need to hit right-handed pitching at an acceptable clip in the coming seasons to profile as more than a platoon bat. There will likely be some struggles along the way as he adjusts to upper level pitching, and the odds of him turning into an everyday player are low. However, that plus power should keep him on the radar of dynasty league owners until he proves he can't hit Double-A pitching. He will likely start the year with High-A San Jose in the favorable hitting conditions of the California League.
