2025 Projections
2025 Fantasy Outlook
Michael Kopech has one more year of team control, and is the odds-on favorite to be the primary closer for the defending World Champs in 2025. That said, do not sleep on the long term future of Henriquez. Henriguez was originally drafted as a catcher by the club and converted to full-time pitching after 2020. He lost the 2023 season due to recovery from Tommy John sugery , but came back in 2024 to pitch at four levels in the organization where he struck out 88 batters in 53 innings of work while allowing 36 hits. He regularly pushes triple digits with his fastball and complements his fastball with cutters and breaking pitches until he settles on one. He struck out 38.9% of the batters he faced last season and has struck out 31.0% of the batters over his minor league career. That work earned hi a very late promotion to the big leagues and is likely going to win him a job in the ever-fluid bullpen for the Dodgers in 2025. The area to watch is with his walks as he did have a 12.8% walk rate in his first season back after surgery, which ideally would come down to a single-digit percentage to get him into the best leverage situations. ANALYSIS
The Dodgers have gotten Alex Vesia (ribs) and Brusdar Graterol (shoulder) back and Henriquez is one of the roster casualties. He has allowed four runs over five relief innings this postseason.
