Past Fantasy Outlooks
2010
2009
One of the shortest players in baseball, Herrera is never going to overwhelm hitters with his stuff. But he was reasonably effective as a lefty specialist, a role he'll fill once again in 2010. Don't invest in him, though - pitchers with his lack of innings and strikeouts are poor investments to begin with, and notoriously volatile given the small sample size.
Herrera was the other pitcher the Reds received in the Josh Hamilton trade, and he made it up to the big league for a couple of cups of coffee. Any time spent on the major league roster for Herrera will be at the back end of the Reds' bullpen.
