November 21, 2018
Bostick agreed to a minor-league contract with Baltimore on Wednesday, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports.
ANALYSIS
Bostick will provide additional depth in the corner-outfield and middle-infield spots within the Orioles' system. He spent most of the 2018 season at the Triple-A level, hitting .295/.354/.414 with four home runs and 38 RBI. After being designated for assignment by Pittsburgh in early August, the 25-year-old latched on with Miami and finished the season playing in 15 major-league games. Though a path to playing time isn't exactly blocked in Baltimore, it seems likely that he'll be back at Triple-A next year.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2017
2014
Pittsburgh acquired Bostick in trade after the Nationals designated him for assignment last September. The 24-year-old infielder will be playing for his fourth organization in 2017. He's shown both power and speed at the lower levels of the minor leagues but struggled in his first go-around at Triple-A (.559 OPS) last year. His strikeout rate spiked to 27.7 percent and a 41:125 BB:K shows there's work to be done. Still, any middle infielder that consistently slugs double-digit homers and steals double-digit bases is worth keeping an eye on. Bostick will look to improve upon his plate discipline at Triple-A in 2017.
Bostick was drafted by the A's out of high school in the 44th round of the 2011 draft. He spent 2013 starting at second base for Low-A Beloit and slashed .282/.354/.452. Possessing nice speed and a bit of pop, he hit 14 home runs over 489 at-bats, while stealing 25 bases. Bostick will be 21 years old in 2014 and should be the starting second baseman for High-A Myrtle Beach, after his trade to Texas as part of a four-player swap in December. Most likely, his long-term role will be that of a utility infielder, but his path to the big leagues appears to have more roadblocks with his new squad given the Rangers' organizational strength in the middle infield.
