Signs minor league contract with White Sox
Blair signed a minor league contract with the White Sox on Tuesday, Matt Eddy of Baseball America reports.
ANALYSIS
The 27-year-old appeared in the majors for the A's in 2015, however, he struggled in his 11 games there, slashing .129/.229/.226 in 31 at-bats. He spent 2016 in the minors, where he bounced between Oakland and Texas, slashing a combined .250/.339/.372 over 156 at-bats. Blair will likely start in Triple-A and provide depth behind the plate.

2016 Fantasy Outlook
The 26-year-old Blair got his first taste of the major leagues in 2015, and while he hit his first big league homer in his short time with Oakland, he only had two other base knocks in 31 at-bats. Blair split most of his time in 2015 between Double-A and Triple-A, hitting .252 with nine homers over a combined 286 at-bats. Through eight minor league seasons, Blair now owns a career .763 OPS and has never topped 11 homers in any season. Blair has possessed a nice walk rate trough his minor league career, but he also strikes out at a high clip (27% in 2015) and has not shown enough power to really be considered a three-true-outcome player. Blair will be a long shot to carve out any sort of significant role in the majors in 2016.
