Bubba Chandler

Chandler, who is on the short list of candidates for best pitching prospect alive, could win a rotation spot this spring after building up to 119.2 innings in his age-21 season. The 6-foot-2 righty boasts an upper-90s fastball (can touch 100 mph) with excellent movement, a hard, biting upper-80s slider (touches 91 mph) and a potentially plus changeup. His 9.4 percent walk rate at Triple-A was his highest mark in the upper levels, but with the challenge system at Triple-A, many pitchers actually threw more strikes after getting promoted to the majors last year, so there's no real concern with Chandler's ability to throw enough strikes to start. He was particularly dominant down the stretch, going between five and seven innings in each of his final eight starts while logging a 1.75 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 61:15 K:BB in 46.1 innings.
