2025 Projections
2025 Fantasy Outlook
Basso has come a long way in his career, from being taken in the 16th round of the 2019 draft and overcoming Tommy John surgery in 2021 to make it to the big leagues for seven games in 2024. Basso used his command and guile to strikeout 109 batters in 93 innings between Double A and Triple A while also getting in just over 22 innings of work with Oakland around a couple of up-downs from Sacramento. Basso profiles as a pitcher who would thrive in the park factors of Oakland, but that soft landing spot is gone and the 15 homers Basso allowed in 67.2 innings of Pacific Coast League work is a harsh reminder of the downside in this command-centric lefty. Basso is not an option for mixed league formats and would only be roster depth in deep AL-Only formats this season. Basso gives off strong late 1980's Allan Anderson vibes, but not the 1988 version when Anderson led the AL in ERA. Read Past Outlooks
