2025 Projections
Awaits short-season assignment
Flores will open the year in extended spring training before being assigned to a short-season affiliate in June, Jim Callis of MLB.com reports.
ANALYSIS
From an upside standpoint, Flores is the most appealing prospect in the lower levels of Boston's farm system, but we will have to wait until mid-June to see him in game action this year. He will likely be assigned to either the Gulf Coast League or the New York-Penn League.

2019 Fantasy Outlook
Flores teased us with a dominant 13-game run in the Dominican Summer League, but lower-body injuries limited him to two games in the Gulf Coast League, so he is still something of a mystery man. He has plenty of pedigree, garnering a $1.4 million signing bonus out of Venezuela on July 2, 2017. While his 57-PA sample in the DSL should not carry a ton of weight, it was obviously impressive enough for Boston to promote him to a more challenging level. His batted-ball profile was essentially perfect and he had more walks (eight) than strikeouts (seven), so we are still waiting for him to display some weaknesses at the plate. At the time of his signing he was listed at 6-foot-1, 160 pounds, but quickly filled out, and is now listed at 190 pounds. His offensive ceiling is much more significant with that added muscle. Flores is not much of a threat on the bases, so his bat will drive his fantasy value. He could reach Low-A before the end of his age-18 season.
