2020 Fantasy Outlook
He only played in six AZL games due to a broken hamate, but Planez's stateside debut was impressive enough to get evaluators extremely excited about his future. A 6-foot-5 outfielder with the potential for 70-grade raw power and 55-grade speed, Planez is still quite raw, but he has rare physical tools. He goes to the plate with the type of aggressive, pull-happy approach that can work for complex-league hitters with elite bat speed, which he has. However, he will need to be more selective and more willing to use the whole field as he climbs the ladder. He could handle center field, but is more likely to end up in right, assuming he continues to fill out his frame. Planez won't turn 19 until August, so he is unlikely to make his full-season debut until 2021. The hype has started to build this offseason, and while it's easy to dream on his ceiling, his floor is still extremely low, so don't get carried away.
