ANALYSIS
Tolleson, who hasn't pitched in the majors since July of 2016, recently suffered a setback in his recovery from Tommy John surgery, prompting the soon-to-be 31-year-old to call it quits rather than continue rehabbing. The right-hander spent parts of five seasons with the Dodgers and Rangers, compiling a career 3.92 ERA to go with 46 saves across 218 innings.

One of fantasy's riskiest closers heading into 2016, Tolleson confirmed suspicions about him by all but imploding over the first month of the year, losing his job in May and never regaining it. He failed to build on the bigger strikeout punch he showed in 2015, losing effectiveness on nearly all of his pitches, per PITCHf/x, and crashing with a career-worst 2.0 HR/9. He declined a minor league assignment to Triple-A Round Rock and became a free agent. He will probably need to land on a team willing to work with him, though at age 29, he can still find value. After all, he carried a steady 2.2 BB/9 in the past two seasons -- not a bad foundation. Regardless, there's no reason to consider him in fantasy drafts until he can ascend to a meaningful role somewhere close to saves, although that seems to be unlikely with Alex Colome and Brad Boxberger in the way in Tampa.
