2025 Projections
Sosa agreed to a minor league contract with the Dodgers, Matt Eddy of Baseball America reports.
ANALYSIS
After struggling with the Astros' Triple-A affiliate in 2012, Sosa spent 2013 in the Korean Professional League. He'll return to the United States as a 28-year-old with limited upside, and his only major league experience came with the dreadful 2011 Astros. Sosa is a long shot to reach the majors at any point in 2014.

Sosa continued his ascent through the minors in 2011 and eventually got the call with the Astros in early August. He throws hard, with his fastball topping out around 96 mph. He'll need to show more consistency if he wants to remain in the Astros' rotation for the whole season, but there is an intriguing power arm here should the Astros decide to move him into the bullpen and give him a look for late-inning duty as their closer role may be up for grabs.
