Throws four scoreless in win over Korea
VandenHurk allowed three hits and two walks over four scoreless innings in a win over Team Korea on Tuesday.
ANALYSIS
He didn't strike out a batter, but VandenHurk still managed to blank Team Korea over four frames before turning it over to the bullpen. Signed by the Marlins as an amateur free agent in 2002, VandenHurk broke into the majors in 2007 but mostly struggled in parts of six seasons before disappearing from affiliated baseball after the 2012 season.

The Netherlands native mastered Triple-A in 2012, going 13-5 with a 2.92 ERA and 113:35 K:BB ratio in 123.1 innings for Indianapolis. He struggled in a short four-game stint with Pittsburgh and it's doubtful he breaks camp with the Pirates regardless of his performance in spring training. At 28, VandenHurk will need to prove that 2012 wasn't a fluke. A midseason callup is the most fantasy owners can hope for.
