2025 Projections
The A's assigned Marti to minor league camp Sunday, MLB.com's Jane Lee reports.
ANALYSIS
Marti did not allow a run in his first seven innings of the spring, but he was rocked for six earned runs in just 0.2 innings in his last outing Friday. Though Marti will open the season in the minors, don't be surprised to see him in Oakland sometime this summer if he pitches well over the next couple months.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2011
2010
Marti was Cuba's top starting pitcher in the 2006 World Baseball Classic. He defected in 2009 and then pitched in the Dominican Winter League and Mexican League in 2010 while negotiating with MLB teams. He finally signed with Oakland, but didn't appear in the minors. He'll likely make his debut at Double-A this season. He's seen as major league ready by many, but remains an unknown since he hasn't pitched recently on the international stage, his numbers in his two brief stints weren't overwhelming and he may be as old as 31. Still, he's a wild card to watch early this season.

Marti has given up four runs in eight innings in his first two starts for Licey in the Domincan Winter league.
