Korecky doesn't seem to get much respect in the Minnesota organization despite putting up strong numbers the last three seasons as the closer at Triple-A Rochester. He strikes out nearly a batter per inning with good control (71:22 K:BB ratio) and few home runs allowed. He even held his own in his first trip to the majors (despite too few strikeouts), but the Twins decided to give several more expensive veteran pitchers a look when the bullpen struggled late in the season. He'll likely be mired in Triple-A again, and his upside is limited at age 29, but he can be an effective and cheap option for a major league or fantasy team if given a chance.
Korecky will be 28 at the end of next season, so he's too old to be considered a top prospect, but he had a strong season at Triple-A by posting 35 saves with a 3.71 ERA and 71:34 K:BB ratio. He could win a bullpen job with the Twins at some point next season, but he needs to improve his control to have continued success.
