Ojeda has been released from Triple-A Iowa and is now a free agent, reports Gordon Wittenmyer of the Chicago Sun-Times.
ANALYSIS
After a poor 2010 with the Diamondbacks in which he hit .190 in 79 at-bats, Ojeda struggled in Iowa this year, hitting just .200 with one extra-base hit. He may catch on somewhere else, but won't be considered for a return to the majors anytime soon.

A 36-year-old utility infielder, Ojeda is a fan favorite in Arizona where his role once called for 250 at-bats. Even that limited part-time duty was scaled back last season, as he hit just .190/.258/.228 over 79 at-bats and showed nothing resembling power or speed. At press time, the D-Backs were considering bringing him back as a free agent, but he's not one to be utilized by fantasy owners at this point.
Ojeda doesn't bring much to the table offensively, but his versatility with the glove and ability to make contact when he's penciled into the lineup has helped him stick around in Arizona longer we've expected. The D-Backs are expected to break in Tony Abreu at second base, so Ojeda could see a little bit more action than usual early in the season if that plan falls through. Even with an expanded role, you'll want to stay away from him given the lack of power and speed, and it's no guarantee that he'll even be on the roster once Opening Day rolls around.
Ojeda will move back into a reserve role with Felipe Lopez now on board as the everyday second baseman in Arizona. He's better suited for part-time work, as evidenced by a very empty .242/.343/.299 line in 231 at-bats as a platoon starter and bench option last season. Considering that he did not hit a home run or steal a base in 2008, you should exhaust all other possibilities before turning to him in even the deepest of leagues.
Ojeda will add depth in the middle infield, after impressing during the stretch run and getting everyday at-bats at second base. The D-Backs dealt Alberto Callaspo to Kansas City in December and with Ojeda back in the cards on a one-year deal, he'll likely yield his utility role to Emilio Bonifacio after the 2008 season. Orlando Hudson and Stephen Drew will log plenty of time as to the two regulars at second and short, so Ojeda's at-bats will be a product of injuries more than anything else.
.
Ojeda will try to win a utility job with the Twins after an impressive 30-game stint in the majors. Ojeda's year at the plate was far above the rest of his career, so we wouldn't expect too much from his bat in 2005.
The Twins claimed Ojeda off of waivers from the Cubs in late November. He'll fill his usual utility role in Minnesota while not hitting or running enough to merit roto-consideration in even the deepest leagues.
An all-field, no-hit, fan favorite, Ojeda will compete for a utility role on the Cubs this spring.
