Martini came back to the States from Korea on a minor-league deal and spent most of the 2023 season at Triple-A Louisville, before the Reds selected his contract for the final two months to provide depth amid a rash of injuries. He provided a jolt for Cincinnati, going deep six times in 72 at-bats. He enters spring training in a competition for the final outfield spot along with Stuart Fairchild and Jose Barrero. Amazingly, the 33-year-old Martini still has a minor league option remaining, which could work against him, as both Fairchild and Barrero would need to clear waivers before a minor league assignment.
