Zac Curtis

Curtis got a chance with the Diamondbacks at the end of April as the team was desperate for some left-handed help. He was sent down in June with a 5.23 ERA across 10.1 innings. Curtis was called up again in July for another brief stint before eventually wrapping up his season at Double-A. In 30 innings at the High-A and Double-A levels, Curtis posted just a 3.90 ERA and 1.33 WHIP. However, he was also able to record 52 strikeouts in those 30 innings, giving him a 15.6 K/9 rate. That matches up with the 14.0 and 12.5 K/9 rates he posted in the low minors in 2014 and 2015, respectively. Those numbers, along with the fact that he's a southpaw and just turned 24 in July, make Curtis a player to watch in holds leagues. The Mariners, whom acquired Curtis as part of the Jean Segura/Taijuan Walker trade, are lacking in terms of quality lefty options in the bullpen.
