Handed suspension
Molina was suspended for the rest of the 2018 season after testing positive for a performance-enhancing substance, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Molina was released by the Mets in July and helps explain why the 23-year-old has failed to latch on with another organization. His suspension will end at the conclusion of the 2018 campaign, so he should be able to find a club heading into next year, though a 6.94 ERA in the minors this past season won't help.

2017 Fantasy Outlook
Molina struggled with elbow problems in 2015, ultimately undergoing Tommy John surgery that October. That resulted in Molina missing all of the 2016 campaign, though he is expected to be ready for the start of the 2017 season. Due to the checkered injury history, questions remain about Molina's durability. The 6-foot-3 right-hander showed incredible promise during his 2014 stint in the New York-Penn League, but he has tossed just 44.1 innings since then. The 22-year-old still has significant potential, but his health and long-term role muddle his future. The Mets will almost certainly ease him into action and place him on an innings restriction in 2017. A return to High-A St. Lucie appears to be his likeliest destination.
