Perkins signed a minor-league contract including an invitation to spring training with the Dodgers on Friday, J.P. Hoornstra of the Los Angeles Daily News reports.
ANALYSIS
Perkins spent the majority of his 2018 season at Triple-A Tacoma, slashing .257/.312/.420 with 10 homers and 48 RBI over 94 games. He'll have a shot to win a spot on the initial 25-man roster, although it's more likely that he'll begin the year at Triple-A Oklahoma City.

2018 Fantasy Outlook
After posting above-average slash lines in the minor leagues for three straight seasons, Perkins was promoted to the Phillies in mid-2017. He failed to impress (32 wRC+) and was ultimately waived and claimed by the Mariners. Seattle might have room to give Perkins some at-bats as a bench outfielder this season, but he was never a particularly highly-touted prospect and is already 27 years old, so the ceiling is low. His minor-league track record suggests he could be closer to an average hitter than he was last season, but it's unlikely that he'll establish himself as a starting-caliber player. Perkins has little relevance outside of very deep leagues to begin the year. Even if an injury to a starting outfielder opens up more at-bats for Perkins, he's unlikely to provide much more than a mediocre batting average and middling counting stats. Perkins has never hit more than 11 homers or stolen more than 11 bases in any season in the minors.
