Last year was another lost season for Gonzalez, as he pitched a total of just 16.2 innings due to a shoulder injury. The Phillies outrighted Gonzalez off their 40-man roster in April, which shows how quickly he has fallen out of the team's plans after being signed to a three-year contract in August of 2013. The Phillies sent him to pitch in the Venezuelan winter league this offseason to get some innings under his belt after all of the missed time the past two seasons. He will likely get a shot at a bullpen job this spring, but he looks like a longshot to contribute.
