Rest-of-Season Projections
In a time when other NPB clubs were signing top Cuban talent, Mejia was kind of an under-the-radar signing, but he wound up leading the Pacific League in home runs with 34.
ANALYSIS
Mejia has already signed a big extension for 2015, so no need to worry about him for next year. Another big year in 2015 could draw the attention of MLB clubs though.

2014 Fantasy Outlook
Mejia has been slowly working himself through the Braves' farm system since 2005, displaying impressive power at each stop along the way. He's spent the past two seasons at Triple-A Gwinnett, and while his average fell by close to 50 points in 2013 (from .296 to .249), Mejia improved upon his walk rate and bettered his ISO from .206 to .247. He clubbed 28 home runs last season, the third straight season in which he's hit 24-plus long balls, while also swiping eight bags in 10 attempts. The 28-year-old needs to cut down on his strikeouts (27.6 K%), and Freddie Freeman is locked in at first base for Atlanta, but Mejia could be trade bait, or perhaps a bench option, for the Braves in 2014.
