Rest-of-Season Projections
Yarbrough went 1-for-4 with a double and a strikeout in a loss to Triple-A Midland on Friday.
ANALYSIS
Yarbrough only saw six at-bats this spring and went hitless in all of them. The second baseman's production has declined in every minor league season from 2013 to 2015 as he's hit .313, .285, and .236, respectively. However, he was promoted from High-A to Double-A to Triple-A in those seasons and faced tougher competition. If the 24-year-old can get back up to his career .279 minor league average this year, he might have a shot at getting promoted to the big leagues.

2014 Fantasy Outlook
Yarbrough opened 2013 in High-A Inland Empire, and though he posted a decent .313/.341/.459 line in 615 plate appearances, his main skill seems to be hitting for average, as he improved his walk rate only slightly from 2012 (4.4%) while his strikeout rate (17.2%) saw a substantive increase. Combine all that with mediocre power (.146 ISO), and what emerges begins to look like a one-tool player, though his speed may be developing, as he stole 14 bases last season. Heading into 2014, Yarbrough is unlikely to see a level higher than Double-A Arkansas, but may be able to challenge for a bench role with the Angels late in the season.
