ANALYSIS
Since jumping prematurely to the big leagues in 2016 as a Rule 5 draft pick with the Phillies, Goeddel hasn't looked particularly close to getting back to The Show. The 26-year-old recorded a .208/.300/.289 slash line in 69 games for Double-A Harrisburg prior to earning his release.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2017
2016
Goeddel, the first pick in the 2015 Rule 5 Draft, spent all of last season on the active roster but received minimal playing time. After spending most of April on the bench, manager Pete Mackanin gave him a brief run as a starter from early May through mid-June. He was solid during that stretch, hitting .260 with three homers and a .755 OPS, but he started to slump in late June and ended up with just 72 more at-bats from July until the end of the season. His season ended early after he suffered a concussion when he was hit in the head by a pitch in late September. Goeddel figures to open this season at Triple-A after missing a year of development by jumping from Double-A to the majors. He could see time with the Phillies later in the year, and would be worth a look in deep leagues as a potential source of stolen bases, having swiped more than 20 bags in each of his minor league seasons since being drafted in 2011.
