Outman turned into a must-start fantasy player during his rookie season in 2023. There were some warning signs, though, most notably a 31.9 percent strikeout rate and a .665 OPS with just one home run versus left-handed pitching. That said, even skeptics probably didn't see his rapid downfall in 2024 coming, as Outman found himself back in the minors by mid-May following a dreadful .147/.250/.266 start to the season. He predictably crushed Triple-A pitching (.933 OPS), but Outman never really got another look with the Dodgers, receiving just 32 plate appearances over the rest of the season after his demotion. The power/speed combo is still there, but Outman will turn 28 in May and might need an injury or two to get another shot at regular at-bats with the Dodgers. Read Past Outlooks
